We are ready to start nominating representatives from MGOS to speak at HLPF 2024 Thematic sessions as Lead Discussants. PLEASE READ ALL THE MESSAGE
As NGO MG we can nominate 2 representatives from your group: 1 to be the main nominee and 1 alternate. Remember that we as Global OP will send the 2 nominations to the Selection Committee of the Coordination Mechanism (the Mechanism that embraces all Major Groups). The final nomination list from the CM Selection Committee is sent to UN DESA, they are the ones who take the final decision.
The list sent to UNDESA by the Selection Committee in the CM takes into account the representativity of the Major Groups, gender, geographic balance, that the person has not spoken at the HLPF last year, that the person has not been previously selected in other opportunities related to HLPF 2024 processes (like the EGM), that the person is self-funded. Regarding this last aspect, and given the UN liquidity crisis, we do not yet have confirmation that there will be funding.
You need to fill in the information for all the questions. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Also, when you apply to speak in the sessions JUST SELECT ONE, if you choose more than one, your application will not be considered.
We still have no deadline, I am guessing it will come promptly. So please apply as soon as possible!
