In December 2021 the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 76/185 on Preventing and combating crimes that affect the environment. This Resolution, which was negotiated in Vienna at the Crime Commission, was strongly promoted by France, a vocal advocate for international action on the environment and climate change. Tiphaine Chapeau, who led efforts on environmental crime at the French Permanent Mission during this period, will reflect on the series of resolutions and initiatives that have been
agreed in recent years opportunities for future action. The briefing will give members the chance to discuss how to engage with the multilateral system to foster partnerships between governments, NGOs, and private sector to more effectively cooperate to prevent crimes that
