Organising Side events at the 66th CND in March 2023

 

The 66th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will be held from 13 to 17 March 2023. Side events and exhibitions may be organized by Member States, UN entities, international organizations and NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC. The registration for side events will proceed as per established practice, you will be able to organise in person, online and hybrid events (depending on how the COVID-19 situation develops).  Make sure to follow the guidelines for side events in 2023 provided by the CND Secretariat!

Only one event per organizer will be accepted. Efforts will be made to accommodate as many requests as possible that meet the eligibility criteria. Events will be accommodated in order of receipt of the application (“first come, first served”). Events submitted by Member States will be accommodated, before all other submissions. Applications for side events should be made through the online form that will be enabled on 9 January 2023 at noon CET (Vienna time). A template of the application form in pdf format is available . Organisers are kindly reminded to follow the guidelines for side events in 2023. The guidelines contain relevant information on organizational matters and build upon the lessons learnt from previous sessions.  NEW this year! As in previous years organizations can support multiple events through ‘co-sponsoring’. However this year the main organiser of the event is responsible for collecting all support request and needs to send a final list of ‘supporters’ via email to  copying all ‘supporters/co-sponsors’ no later than 15 February 2022.
