UPDATES FROMTHE FIRST AFRICA REGIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE ON SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH,ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND LEADERSHIP

Dear distinguished partners,

Greetings from Uganda.

As the world was commemorating International Youth Day 2019 under the theme:"Transforming Education",more than 400 Young people from 15 countries in Africa convened from 15th to 16th August 2019 at SILVER SPRINGS HOTEL-Kampala,Uganda.

The conference that was purely led by Young people,had side events on specific themes;Sexual Reproductive Health,Economic Empowerment and Leadership and panel discussions with performances and exhibitions by different partners.

The conference came up with the Communique that high lights challenges and recommendations by Young people for African governments to prioritize on.

Key from the delegates was "Meaningful Youth involvement in development agenda"

Delegates recommended to hold this event annually and therefore for 2020,you are requested to book  dates 5th-6th August 2020 as the dates for the second Africa Regional Youth Conference.

I wish to share with you the conference Report,Communique and Appreciation message for your information and ideas on how to make the second Africa Regional Youth conference in August 2020,a success.

Thank you delegates who traveled to Uganda for this conference and thus working together will make Youth in Africa more empowered and meaningfully involved to "Unlock the Youth Potential" for strengthening and contributing to development of Africa.
